Historic St. John’s Episcopal Church

It’s been a while since I featured an old church! The Historic St. John’s Episcopal Church, in Tuscumbia, was built in 1852 and was the first church built in the state of Alabama in the Carpenter Gothic style.

Though the building was built in 1852, they began meeting in 1839 in homes and the Methodist Meeting House. The active church stopped meeting in 1955, but is still used today for special events.
