It’s been quite some time since I featured an Eagleville home!
The Dr. William Harrison McCord House was built between 1880 and 1882. McCord was a surgeon in the Civil War and later settled in Eagleville as a local physician. He married Sarah Macon Williams in 1868 and was given around 199 acres of land by his father-in-law as a wedding gift.
They eventually built this home. It’s a vernacular-style farmhouse with Italianate detailing. Later on it sat vacant for a few decades, but was eventually restored back to its former glory by a great-grandson of the family.
