Parrot-Camp-Soucy House, Newnan

What a PLACE. The Parrot-Camp-Soucy House is located in Newnan, Georgia. It was built in the 1840s, but don’t let this magnificent exterior fool you. It was originally built as a single story home! Obviously, it’s undergone some major changes over the years.

By the late 1840s, I guess they needed more space, because they added the second story and changed the style to Greek Revival. Then in the 1880s, it was given the Second Empire Victorian style you see here. Later, it was given a complete restoration by the Soucys in the 1980s.

It has been featured in film over the years including “The Odd Life of Timothy Green”, “The House with the Clock in its Walls”, and HBO’s “Lovecraft Country” series.

This is one of my favorite places I’ve visited so far! I found a lot of this info from The Newnan Times-Herald when they did an article on this home back in 2018.
