The Worcester House, St Augustine

It’s known as The Worcester House, named for Kenneth Worcester Dow who lived here until his death at the age of 90 in 2002. More about him in a moment. It was built by John Henry for his new bride between 1888 and 1893.

That wraparound porch had been demolished at some point, but was replaced again in the last few years. So glad it’s back!

Kenneth Dow owned nine historic properties (dating from 1790-1910) on this site. He was an art collector and donated his entire life’s collection to the Museum of Arts and Sciences in 1989. This house opened as part of The Dow Museum of Historic Houses in 2000. It’s now known as The Collector Luxury Inn & Gardens.
