This gorgeous home is located on Bridge Street in St. Augustine. It was built sometime between 1865 and 1885. It’s one of the oldest homes in the neighborhood. President Thomas Jefferson’s great-granddaughter, Maria Jefferson Shine lived here for a time.
It hasn’t always looked this way though. Back in 2010 it was a market that experienced a major crime bust and it ended up boarded up for several years. It was bought and completely renovated back to historical standards and opened as a restaurant. While that restaurant has since closed down, I believe another one is said to reopen here soon.
This is another success story of restoration and I’m so happy for this old gal!
