The Brumby-Sibley-Corley House, in Marietta, was built in 1882. Also known as “Tower Oaks”, it was built by the first owner of the Brumby Chair Factory, James Remley Brumby. That brick driveway leading to the front door! You don’t see that too often anymore!

A practically perfect Queen Anne in the Crescent Hill neighborhood of Louisville. This home sits on the location of the old fairgrounds. Crescent Avenue is a beautiful Louisville street with several different styles of homes and it contributes to the Crescent Hill Historic District.

Abandoned Victorian – Tennessee
Just thinking back to this old beauty that I visited last year. I was under the impression that she would be torn down by now, but I have heard that she’s still standing. I’m sure her buttercups are blooming. Built around 1885, there’s an ell in the back that may have been built much earlier.

This adorable home in Holly Springs is the Hopkins House. It was built in 1838 as a two-room Greek Revival. It wasn’t until the 1920s that it was added onto and now has over 3,000 square feet. It contributes to the East Holly Springs Historic District.

Taylor-Compton House, Kentucky
This Frankfort, Kentucky home is believed to be one of the oldest in the city. It dates back to 1832 and is known at the Taylor-Compton House. It’s located right across the street from the Old State Capitol Building. It was also owned by the Lutkemeiers who were German imigrants and druggists in the 1860s.
