Newton Craig House, Georgetown
This gorgeous old house surprised us in rural Kentucky one day. The Newton Craig House was built in 1830 and expanded in 1870. Craig served as the warden for the state penitentiary which had some of its buildings right here on his property at one time.Elijah Craig, the inventor of Kentucky bourbon, was Newton’s brother.

The Joseph C. Widmer House was built in 1895. Joseph was a business manager for National Tobacco Works. The home is said to be haunted by a young girl named Lucy, though there are no records of anyone by that name ever living there.

Remembering this Old Place
Most don’t even notice her there on the side of the road. Though she was there way before the pavement even came through. She has seen many things in her day. She has watched decades turn into a century. She still remembers, but also longs to be remembered.
