House Was Wedding Gift
What a wedding gift! Built by James H. Dosser for his daughter Mary M. Dosser and her new husband Isaac E. Reeves. This Italianate Villa was built in 1877 after the two were wed in 1876. Reeves was a very prominent lawyer in Jonesborough. Why don’t people build homes as wedding gifts anymore?

Maison Lafitte Historic Venue
Originally built for Mrs Marie ‘Emma’ Duteil Prudhomme, this home was built in 1890 and remodelled in 1915. It was considered to be “de-Victorianized” in 1915. She sold the home to the Johnsons who lived here for 90 years. It’s now an event venue called Maison Lafitte.
